Membership News - March 6, 2009
March Madness!
March is a very busy time. The Legislature and our foes are out in full force keeping us very busy with bills and initiatives affecting guides. It is also Show Month and Special Event Month. We need you to volunteer and help these two committees. Both promote MPGA to the public, and help raise funds that are vital to maintaining our fight in Augusta.
1. MPGA Meetings:
- Board of Directors - Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 9:00 AM. Location is the Howard Johnson's on Outer Hammond Road in Bangor. NEW LOCATION
- Annual Membership Meeting & Banquet - Saturday, April 11, 2009. Location is Jeff's Catering in Brewer. See your new newsletter for ticket info.
Members are welcome to attend all Board meetings.

3. Events Committee needs Your Help

The MPGA "Events Committee" will be at three special retail events in March.
- Kittery Trading Post on Saturday and Sunday, March 21 & 22 for Fishing Fest and Turkey Hunting Events.
- L.L.Bean in Freeport on Saturday and Sunday, March 21 & 22 for the Spring Fishing Expo.
- Cabela's in Scarborough on Saturday, March 21 for a special Hunting Expo.
The Committee has sponsored a seminar at Kittery and L.L.Bean, and will have a display booth at all three locations to meet the public and discuss the Association's activities and Maine Guides. Help is needed at all locations to staff our display and represent MPGA. We will be selling raffle tickets at Kittery Trading Post and Cabela's.
The Events Committee also needs guides to become regular MPGA speakers and representatives at future events. Please let us know about your specialty. This is a great chance for some public exposure.
