Matagamon Wilderness

Rte 159 Grand Lake RdT6-R8, ME 04765

We are a four season lodge located on the east branch of the Penobscot River, one mile from the north entrance of Baxter State Park, in Northern Maine. We guide for trophy black bear, moose, white-tail deer, coyote and partridge. You can also spend the day, or a week, with us here at Matagamon Wilderness to fly fish or spin cast for native brook trout, land lock salmon, lake trout or small mouth bass on pristine rivers and ponds. Big game hunting is our specialty and our full time livelihood. It's not just a job it's our passion! With it being the winter season, there is lots of fun to be had…snowmobiling, ice fishing, X-country skiing, snow shoeing, skating, heated hunting shacks for coyote hunting. We also offer guided back country snowmobiling trips and shuttles into the park.
