The candidate must have experience in fund raising, management and public speaking. The job requires the ability to effectively manage the business affairs of the association. The job requires some day travel to various meetings statewide. The candidate must be willing and able to work with the current Executive Director. The positon is designed to groom the successful candidate for a seamless and smooth transition of the overall duties and responsibilities of the Executive Director. Executive Deputy Director Job Description
The Executive Deputy Director will work as an independent contractor to the association; providing an office and office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer with software including a recent version of the Microsoft Office Suite, telephone and a high speed Internet connection. Contractor must also provide reliable transportation for attending meetings statewide as directed by the board. This is a work from home, part-time position that will involve some in-state day or evening meetings and average about 16 to 20 hrs a week. This position is suitable for candidates that have a background and interest in preserving Maine's outdoor recreational opportunities and promoting the use of guides to enhance the experience.
Contractor will work in conjunction with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Contractor will report to the board of directors and the Executive Committee will oversee the transition of duties from the current Executive Director to the Deputy to facilitate a gradual changeover of responsibilities. Regular reports are to be submitted to the board directors of activities undertaken and projects tracked and completed.
The Executive Deputy Director will assist in leading the association's administrative and business management activities. Specific functions are listed below.
Overseeing the business affairs of the corporation.
Overseeing the webmaster's maintenance & development of website(s).
Communicates on behalf of the association.
Responsible for MPGA Website Maintenance.
Provides Support for MPGA Board and Committees
Provides Meeting Representation.
Assists with Special Projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Background in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, & Publisher.
• Experience in public speaking.
• Knowledge of website functionality.
• Needs to be highly organized and able to multi-task.
• Have financial management experience.
